Dr Amit Meena is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Joint Replacement and Sports Injuries and an internationally recognized expert on the diagnosis and treatment of complex knee problems. Dr Amit completed both his medical education and orthopaedic training at Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. He then received a three-year appointment as a senior orthopaedic surgeon at the Central Institute of Orthopaedics, Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.
Later on, he joined the world-famous Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, Bologna, Italy and began his specialized training with Prof. Stefano Zaffagnini in knee surgery and performed numerous complex knee surgeries. He also carried out landmark research into knee replacement, knee ligament injuries, effects of immobility, injury prevention, and diagnosis and treatment of serious knee disorders. He further joined Gelenkpunkt – Sports and Joint Surgery, Innsbruck, Austria, where he got great exposure with Prof. Christian Fink & Dr Christian Hoser in Knee Replacement and Sports Injuries and he treated many world champion athletes from all around the world. During this period, he was involved in the treatment of many professional athletes from European national teams and top football clubs of the English premier league, Bundesliga Football League and Serie A Football League including FC Bryan Munich, Manchester City, Juventus, and AS Roma. He was also involved in the treatment of professional skiers from the Japan ski team, Russian Ski Team, Norwegian Alpine Ski Team, Canadian Alpine Ski Team and Red Bull Medical Centre Europe.
After great exposure to complex knee replacement and sports injuries in Europe, Dr Amit moved to North America and Joined Western University, Ontario, Canada. Here he worked with Dr Alan Getgood and further honed his skills in the management of complex knee disease.

He serves on a variety of editorial review boards and is a manuscript reviewer for several highly respected journals. Among many research projects he is leading, Dr Amit is studying surgical techniques and rehabilitation to return to recreational activities after knee replacement procedures, revision knee replacement, revision ACL reconstruction, repair and transplantation of articular cartilage and meniscus, and osteotomies of the knee for a pain-free life.
